Why Not Friends?

Bruce Walker

Nazis hated Christianity and began a campaign against Christianity almost as soon as they took power. The Anatomy of Nazism by Earl Raab and published by the Anti-Defamation League of B’nai B’rith in 1961 documents the Nazi campaign to destroy Christianity very well, and this was also well known at the time.

Before HaShoah, many millions died at the hands of the Soviets, probably a greater holocaust than HaShoah. The only vocal voices against this holocaust were serious Christians in democracies, and courageous people were ignored or even attacked by people sympathetic to the Soviet Union, which sadly included many Jews.

Bad people commit these terrible crimes, and the architect of the greatest democide in history was a bad person who happened to be Jewish, Lazar Kaganovich. Another bad person who happened to be Jewish, Genrich Yagoda, was the head of Stalin’s secret police at the time. It is very wrong to blame Jews people for these bad eggs, but it is just as bad to blame Christians for Nazis, many of whom renounced their Christianity.
